Accessories: A Girls Best Friend
Scarves and jewelry and bags, oh my! Accessories are truly a girls' best friend. They instantly change the mood of your garments in point two seconds. Some looks are more complicated than others leading to personal style anxiety but accessorizing can be super easy. Especially with one of Spring's must have trends...printed scarves.

I had the pleasure of checking out some of Fresh Threads new arrival of accessories and I was in heaven. I decided to show some of the most simple ways to wear your scarves for this already extremely hot season of sun.

Look #1: A basic tank with two scarves twisted around each other to mix prints. These scarves are very light weight so you won't feel like you've entered a sauna. The bag, the shoes? Love!

Look #2: A cutesy, textured top with simple accents. Notice the scarf up top...put it in your hair by wrapping it up, tying it down, or braiding it in your lovely locks. Here I rolled the cuff once to create a laid back feel with these leopard espadrilles.

Look #3: This look is for an off day from the office. The way the scarf is styled over the shoulders of this classic button down screams SOPHISTICATED LADY. Adding muted accessories gives it a modern feel.

See...accessories are a girls best friend! And scarves are a year around must have in my closet so I guess "she" is my BFF. Style is life. Fashion is love.

Mixing It Up! By April featured stylist: Amandia Reese Craig

It’s that wonderful time of year again. The first full month of spring and already I’m putting all the stylish trends to the test. My most recent style obsession is mixing prints and patterns. I get a little antsy just thinking about going against the grain of what is expected and coming out stylishly victorious. I tend to be a little bold with my mixing prints but you may be a bit hesitant on how to master this cool look. Have no worries! I am here for you. Check out some of the looks I had the privilege of putting together at Fresh Threads Designer Consignment Shop.

This simple look is easy to pull off. The skirt does all the mixing you need.

I love how this look is very subtle in print and pattern mixing. The top is right on trend with the floral print and sets a great base for the clutch which is in a neutral brown in croc skin, the khaki pants (still neutral), and the chunky platforms in a weave basket pattern. Gotta love it!

A scarf sometimes says a thousand words. The mixing of this motif scarf, mauve striped top, and tweed jacket brings mixing and matching to perspective. Notice how all the prints have that super calming mauve color. Mixing 101: Try to stay in the same color way.

This has got to be one of my favorite looks! It’s so effortlessly cool. Stripes and plaid is such a pleasurable combo especially when they are grounded with camel colored accessories. Throw on a pair of hoops, an embellished necklace and you are ready to go. (one of my favs also! ~ Juli)

Now I know this outfit is a little different and harsh to the eye at first but it’s something refreshing about the mixing of random prints and patterns and making them work. Black and white are always a great base to build on. And the color contrast of pink and green is so “spring”. Keep accessories neutral or the same color as the majority of the look and you won’t go wrong.

The woman that pulls this look off is bold and confident. Stripes and child hood favorite polk-a-dots… LOVE! Simple pointy toed pumps and this structured bag allow this fierce ensemble to stand out.

I hope these looks have inspired you. I know for sure I’ll be back at Fresh Threads to get a couple of things myself. If you have any style questions or want a little push to your print mixing let me know. I am an open book! Style is Life. Fashion is Love.

Please visit Amandia's website and connect with her. She is very knowledgeable, super friendly, in love with fashion and would love to hear from you! :)

"The Hippie Chic" by March featured stylist VStylist Tamy Lugo

Many women in Florida prefer to dress relaxed on the weekends and moments of leisure.
This Spring has come with a fresh way to wear the most wanted style around. Hippie Chic is the new Bohemian Chic!

Wide leg pants in paisley, tribal and a slew of prints can be seen all over town. Best on tall boy shaped figures, but if that's not you; be sure to choose vertically aligned prints. Blouse your tops by defining the waist and creating balance. Whether you're curvy or petite, wear the wide leg pants with wedges.

The warm, sunny, comfortable airy weather is a definitely a sign that Spring 2013 has arrived to Florida.

I for one am very excited about this year's fashions and color palettes, because it means we don't have to put any of last year's clothes away just yet. By making savvy updates to a wardrobe, one can bounce right back into the season in style.

I created a couple of sets to demonstrate the top colors of the season as pieces you can incorporate to stay current and look fantastically put together at any given time.

GREEN
Growth, harmony and freshness.

BLUE
Trust, loyalty, confidence, wisdom and faith

Style extends to the working woman, the real housewife, the college student or the social butterfly. All it takes is a little Spring forward into fashion.
